Being an Artisan in Florence, and how to reach the world from the Oltrarno - Part II

Welcome back! I am picking up from the discussion about the Renaissance beauty of Florence that I left with you in the last blog. A first part of stories, in which I talked about Paris, Shanghai, Alamaty and Florence itself. If you missed it or need a refresh, here is the link

In this second part, I will talk about the adventures tied to scouring the fashion exhibition world for more channels to showcase Monnaluna, beyond the fabulous contours of #Florence since 2015, more specifically, from 2017 to the present.

I will share more stories with you from the show called #Homi in Milan, and from China: with one event in Guangzhou, #GuangzhouFashionWeek and another in Hangzhou #HangzhouCultureandCraftsWeek.

Follow me... let's start with #Milan Italy.

Milan is, as you all know, an important hub for fashion on the international level. Its trends and its impact, as I'm sure all of you will acknowledge, is indisputable . Our attendace, as a Monnaluna team, began there for the very first time in September of 2017 - it was a delicate moment in our lives with some health issues with my husband so, the show was attended by my daughter and I. Although I was a veteran, having done this exhibition several times as Sales Manager and then CEO for other fashion brands ... I was SUPER nervous! My thoughts were: Will I be able to relay the Monnaluna project fully? and it's goal? Will people really understand how they can personalize our proposals to fit their taste? Will I be able to captivate my buyers with our ideas and with our creations? My head was whirling and I was very, very agitated!

The first day swiped away any anxiety because the concentration required to be professional and thourough with the very large fashion crowd of this Milan Fashion venue, instigated me to keep focused... and it was a success! Indeed the possibility granted by this event to present Monnaluna to the world of buyers was gratifying. I attended the show again several times after that, with my husband, meeting up with many new clients (and clients I had begun to work with through the internet in between the shows), thus consolidating many business relations. We hope that we will soon be able to return to this normality. Here are some of our best photos from that event over the years. It takes place twice a year and hopefully will resume again soon.

Moving onward to the other side of the world, I attended the #GuangzhouFashionWeek in person in October of 2018. The fashion week allowed me to showcase my items together with other brands from China and Korea. It was spectacular and fun! No doubt I am certain that the market is receptive and is also open to new brands like my own.

GUANGZHOU FASHION WEEK 2018

In 2019, I attended for the First time in person, the #Hangzhou Cultural and Crafts week. It was back to back with my last attendance at #HOMI. So after finishing the exhibition in Milan on September 17th 2019, and getting home at 2AM on the 18th, I hopped on a plane headed to Hangzhou!! First flight from Florence through Rome, at 16pm on the 18th, to Beijing and then onward to Hangzhou! Go, go, go and I thought: I'm getting too old for this!! And you can see it in this video :-)

... BUT it was worth it!

The organizing party behind the preparation of the exhibition is also to thank for the generosity in granting us the stay at a fabulous hotel.

The attendance was a success and I was blessed with many happy people that became my clients. They were extremely kind, extremely joyous and very positively inclined towards Monnaluna products.

I hope to see you all again VERY SOON!
